Seriously, the writers of 9-1-1 do not take it easy on fans' emotional heartstrings. Previous episodes of the FOX series gave audience a glimpse into Eddie Diaz's (Ryan Guzman) stricken past fighting in Afghanistan. After his son Christopher (Gavin McHugh) found out his Silver Star medal, Eddie was quickly haunted through vibrant flashbacks of his time in the military.

Eddie was reminded of his mortality another time whilst on a rescue challenge. Showrunners teased the firefighter's exit after he found himself trapped in an underground tunnel, however in any case, Eddie made it out alive. Although up to now, Eddie Diaz gave the impression to have nine lives, fresh episodes of 9-1-1 suggest that Ryan Guzman's time at the show has come to an end.

Although first responders were to begin with known as to assist Charlie's mom, Sheila (Sara Canning), who had fallen in the course of the floor of the balcony, Eddie in the end discovered that Sheila wasn't the only one at risk. 

Although Sheila claimed that Charlie had an autoimmune disease that avoided him from going outdoor, Eddie discovered that Sheila were deliberately been keeping Charlie sick to reap the rewards of his GoFundMe donations. 

Shortly after Eddie made this discovery, he received a call from Charlie, who revealed that he had dosed his mother with the medication that she was once the usage of to make him ill. Eddie was leaving Charlie's space when he was once shot through a sniper and seemingly left for dead. And Buck's response did not make the scene any much less emotional. 

Since the episode's premiere, social media has been in shambles. While showrunners haven't revealed whether or not or no longer Eddie is in reality useless, fans have taken to Twitter to mourn the nature's (potentially) tragic dying. 

One user wrote, "How am I supposed to sleep knowing the writers had Carla tell Eddie to follow his heart and then made him get shot right in front of Buck specifically and then they proceed to emphasize the fact that not once do they ever take their eyes off each other... there's something there."

Another viewer insisted that this is not the top of the street for Eddie Diaz. The fan tweeted, "He's going to be fine everyone. I promise he's gonna be fine. Ryan literally just did an interview where he said he was excited about Season 5 and [creator] Tim [Minear] also said this would be like the Season 2 finale. OK, so he's going to be fine. He's alive."

Rest simple, fans. Showrunners haven't showed that we will have to say goodbye to Ryan Guzman simply yet.
