In a podcast episode of Hoot & a Half with Matt King and Mike Sheffer, Ella informed the tale of how she knew David and the way she got a job operating for him the place she made it clear that she is now not some other assistant of his. So, whilst she used to be employed at 368, she met David when Neistat's emblem was web hosting a pop-up for David's merchandise.

David told Ella she will have to move to Los Angeles, however she didn't need to at the time because she enjoyed her lifestyles within the Big Apple and wasn't looking to be his private assistant. Though, she still wanted to be in contact with him in case some other activity came up. And when that did aka her job now as his executive manufacturer, she flew to the West Coast and began her life in LA.
