Canadian ‘Catfish’ hopeful Brittany is stuck in a love triangle together with her online lover, Mark, and her ex-boyfriend Billy.

While many Catfish hopefuls hunt down the show to verify the identity of their online lovers, Brittany finds that she hopes that Mark isn’t who he says he's. “So my ultimate dating was once actually with my manager from work, Billy. There was one thing that attracted me to him in an instant and I fell in love,” Brittany tells Nev and Kamie. “I used to be in love with him for a couple of years sooner than finding out that he was once married.”

Not lengthy after her breakup with Billy, Brittany received a message from Mark that warned her about illicit images that have been posted of her on a revenge porn site. Over time, their relationship deepened, but they have been pressured to press pause on pursuing their partnership after Brittany discovered that Mark and Billy were excellent buddies.

She explains, “​​Mark reached out to me — he just messages me and is going, ‘Oh yeah, there is this Bill man at my area.’ It was so weird how he mentioned it, how he even introduced it up. It was once strange.”

Eventually, Mark reveals their true identity on a Zoom call — and it’s no longer Mark at all. Or Billy, for that matter. According to her, she’s been impersonating her husband and Mark in an attempt to get revenge for her husband’s infidelity.
