Joe Davis Is Living His Dream by Calling the 2022 World Series

Now that Joe Buck has passed the mantle of World Series announcer to Joe Davis, the latter sportscaster’s voice will succeed in tens of millions of baseball fanatics all over the MLB’s biggest games. The 2022 World Series kicks off on Friday, Oct. 28, with the Philadelphia Phillies facing the Houston Astros, and Joe shall be in the Fox Sports broadcasting booth alongside Hall of Famer John Smoltz.

“I know it appears like hyperbole to mention living your dream,” Joe advised MLB.com in a contemporary interview. “Watching the World Series on Fox, very, very quickly dreaming of doing large games and having considered one of the giant chairs which might be so few for the crown events across sports, very early on that used to be a dream of mine. I always say, ‘If you made me make a choice one tournament back when I was a youngster, I might have mentioned Game 7 of the World Series.’”

Joe’s Fox Sports profile lists his sportscasting credentials. The Potterville, Mich. local attended Beloit College in Wisconsin and performed football for the college, serving as group captain twice. During the off-season, he did play-by-play pronouncing for Beloit’s baseball and males’s and girls’s basketball video games on native radio and tv stations.

After faculty, Joe became a play-by-play announcer for the minor-league Montgomery Biscuits baseball group in Montgomery, Ala., and even earned the Southern League Broadcaster of the Year in 2012. That similar year, he joined ESPN as an announcer and lined faculty baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and softball games. And in 2013, he changed into the youngest ever ESPN announcer to name a bowl game when he narrated a Poinsettia Bowl sport.

In 2014, Fox Sports employed Joe to be a play-by-play announcer for its college football, faculty basketball, and Major League Baseball protection. And the following year, the Los Angeles Dodgers hired Joe to name their road games for SportsInternet LA. Joe changed into a full-time announcer for the Dodgers in 2017, a place he holds along his Fox Sports duties.

Joe and his wife, Libby, were faculty sweethearts.

According to a 2017 Dodgers Insider blog post, Joe met his now-wife, Libby Davis, when he was once a sophomore at Beloit and she or he used to be a sophomore at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, which intended they would have to drive 4 hours to see one every other each and every other week.

After faculty, as Joe gained sportscasting enjoy in Alabama, Libby worked in advertising and marketing and gross sales at a pharmaceutical corporate to give a boost to the two of them.

“Right away, from the very start to now, she’s been a larger fan and supporter of my occupation than even I have,” Joe informed Dodgers Insider. “When she adopted me to Montgomery when we graduated [from] school, that’s after I knew I probably had a keeper.”

Joe and Libby have 3 kids, Charlotte, Blake, and Theo, and the trio filmed a Father’s Day tribute for Joe that performed all the way through a June 2022 Cardinals-Red Sox recreation.
