Season 2 of Don't Forget the Lyrics! premiered on May 23, 2023, and host Niecy Nash is just as excited as the contestants for the newest run of the game show. Niecy spoke to the New York Post about the Fox musical pageant and teased a promising 2nd season of the show.
“It’s the sort of fun season,” Niecy exclaimed. “I just love being in a position to hook up with the contestants. I’m biting my nails; I’m wringing my palms. You want them to do smartly.”

How does 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' work?
The competition on Fox’s Don't Forget the Lyrics! is much more advanced than its name implies. Single contestants are tasked with singing the correct lyrics to 10 songs. Players should pick songs from categories like pop, country, R&B, or even one-hit wonders. As the recreation progresses, the prize price rises from $2,500 to $1 million. Lyrics to the track seem on the display, with an in-studio band accompanying the track. Then, the track stops and contestants will have to finish the lyrics acapella.
Like maximum recreation shows, Don't Forget the Lyrics! comprises game-saving backups. Contestants bring along a circle of relatives member to help with the festival who they may be able to call on for help as soon as throughout the recreation. Also, players are given a three-word clue that they may be able to use to lend a hand them discover the winning answers.

In the first level of the recreation, contestants are merely left to fill in 3 lyrics from a music. But as the money prize will increase, so does the recreation’s difficulty. Players are tasked with completing longer stretches of music lyrics as they progress up the cash ladder. The final round is value $1 million.

The newest inception of the show, with Niecy as the host, has yet to see a player stroll away with the $1 million grand prize. However, there were a number of giant winners in Season 1 of the fashionable sport display. As contestants progress up the cash ladder, they will have to select to proceed competing for $1 million or walk away with the money bought from previous rounds.
Fletch Walcott, who gave the impression in the sequence premiere, received $150,000. The final competitor in the season, Kade Hamilton, walked away with $100,000.
Niecy’s addition to the common sport show comes over a decade after Don't Forget the Lyrics premiered. The authentic inception of the display, which aired from 2007 to 2009, noticed actor Wayne Brady in the role as the game’s emcee. In 2010, former Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath took over the rate as host, where he remained for one season. Mark’s model of the show, which aired as a part of Fox’s sunlight hours lineup, was cancelled in 2011.
