Shan Smith Is a Frontrunner to Win 'Survivor' and No One Is Upset About It... Yet

Season 41 of Survivor brings a large number of new twists (maybe too many for some enthusiasts), but on the vivid facet, its solid is one of the highest casts of freshmen in years. Perhaps the pandemic gave production sufficient time to in point of fact sift thru packages and select an out of this world staff of people. Regardless, there’s one solid member who even sticks out above all the rest: Shantel Smith.

Shantel, or “Shan” as she’s more ceaselessly referred to, is a clear frontrunner for the title of Sole Survivor. Shan Smith from ‘Survivor’ is a pastor in her everyday existence, however her path to get there used to be distinctive.

Shan might be known as a “pastor” in step with her on-screen career, but she had a very interesting getting path there. (Plus, she’s also a comedian and an actress!) But ahead of Shan’s appearance on Survivor 41, she spoke with Global TV about how she turned into the pastor she is lately.

“Bouncing around from foster house to foster house, I didn’t have a lot of money, so I got blended up and taken with some truly reckless activities,” Shan revealed. “I was initiated into a gang. You’re around a lot of shady individuals who do a large number of shady issues. My life was really laborious. I in reality battled with rejection, suicide, despair, and my identity.”

That doesn’t appear to be the herbal progression into pastoral existence, but Shan worked to triumph over her adolescence hardships. “I wouldn’t be a pastor [who is] as useful as I am, as related as I'm in the spaces that I occupy, whether or not it’s running with a housing authority, foster care houses, speaking at schools, and even at the churches that I’m in or neighborhood facilities,” she mused. “While I wouldn’t wish my youth on anyone, I value it and I cherish it.”

We also learn in Episode Five slightly more about Shan’s previous. Child Protective Services took her from her mother at a tender age, and she had numerous anger towards her mom in consequence.

However, later in existence, Shan and her mother reconnected sooner than she passed on to the great beyond. Now, Shan says that her mom is one among her biggest heroes. It’s that sort of love and forgiveness, in addition to her resilience, that fans love about Shan.

Before going on Survivor, Shan used to be a pastor at the Fellowship Church in Los Angeles. Despite her non secular background, however, Shan isn’t afraid to make large strikes. Apparently, her senior pastor “blessed” Shan with some pre-forgiveness. She defined, “My senior pastor ‘launched’ me. He advised me, ‘Just pass play the sport and we will handle all of that while you get back.’”

And we can perceive why he’s forgiving! Shan obviously has a bright and loving spirit, which is a part of what makes it so easy for her to connect with (and later manipulate) the other contestants.

Add in her goofy perspective and appearing chops, and Shan is a pastor like no different. Her social media proves that she’s discovered distinctive ways to spread her ideals and reach out to those that may need a little bit bit of spirituality however wouldn’t typically seek it out.

Using her comedic character, Shan has made viral videos about being a millennial who comes from a troublesome past and joins the church. They’re hilarious, so it seems like Shan has found her true calling. We can also’t deny that she has the absolute best Survivor instincts we’ve seen in a very long time.
